Bach & Brews
J.S. Bach wrote most of his 1100+ compositions to be performed within church services, but he and some of his contemporaries also wrote comical secular music for concerts at cafes and house parties. Bach & Brews presents virtuosic instrumental music and semi-staged witty works for vocal soloists and chamber orchestra. Come experience light-hearted music, exceptional artistry, good beer, and great company. Perhaps you'll even be invited to join us in singing a few Baroque drinking songs!
Safety & Health Protocol
Our board of directors, in consultation with epidemiologists, will continue to monitor the evolution of the COVID pandemic as the festival nears.
MASKS & PHYSICAL DISTANCING
All Bach & Brews concerts will be held outdoors at spacious venues. Depending on the state of the pandemic as our festival nears, masks may be required or strongly encouraged. Ticket holders will be notified of up-to-date safety guidelines as the concert dates near.
Our musicians are required to either show proof of Covid vaccination, or wear personal protective equipment during all rehearsals and concerts while receiving negative covid tests the week of the festival. Many of our vaccinated musicians may also choose to wear masks during rehearsals and performances.
For many, audience participation in drinking songs is a favorite aspect of Bach & Brews. As our festival nears, we will make a decision in consultation with epidemiologists whether or not to enjoy sing-a-longs at this year's concerts.
